Walter Bowen

Walter Bowen is CEO and owner of BPM Real Estate Group and its subsidiaries. Walter is an innovator and entrepreneur who leads and develops real estate properties that infuse energy and creativity in how people live and work, and how communities can move forward to grow and prosper. Known nationally since 1986 for his development, ownership and management of senior living communities, Bowen is an industry pioneer in the creation and operation of senior living communities. Believing that seniors should life to the fullest, he has developed vibrant senior living communities in Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Texas that allows residents to remain independent, while providing innovative options for aging in place, including a specialized area for memory care.

His innovations for senior living are the cornerstones for how each BPM Senior Living Property is managed. Bowen employs a strong, centralized management style that encourages independent decision-making by community managers and his home office team. This forward-thinking philosophy allows the BPM staff to respond quickly to resident needs and industry regulation. Bowen attended the University of Oregon and is a graduate of Portland State University. He has served on numerous local, regional and national boards of directors, including for the Assisted Living Federation of America (now Argentum) and on the Advisory Board for the National Investment Center for Senior Housing and Care (NIC). He is also a Trustee for Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation in Portland.

Meet Dan Lamey, Pres COO of The Alexander in Bend, Oregon

Dan Lamey

Dan Lamey is the President and COO of BPM Senior Living Company and Bowen Real Estate Group. BPM Senior Living has managed numerous senior living communities in the Western United States, a portfolio that has included independent living, assisted living and memory care communities. Mr. Lamey is responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as strategic planning for the senior living company.

Mr. Lamey began his career in the senior living industry with Regent Assisted Living in 1996 as its Acquisitions Manager. He took on additional development responsibilities in 1999 and transitioned into senior living operations in 2003. He has been involved in the acquisition, development, opening and/or operations of nearly 50 senior living communities across the United States.

Mr. Lamey has been actively involved with Argentum, formerly known as the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), the American Senior Housing Association (ASHA), the National Investment Center for Senior Housing (NIC), the Oregon Health Care Association (OHCA) and the Alzheimer’s Association. Mr. Lamey serves in various advisory and operations leadership committees, has been a contributor in the Assisted Living Executive magazine and a presenter at the national Argentum conference.

In addition to senior living, Bowen Real Estate Group has been active in the development, ownership and operations of Class A commercial office buildings, large multifamily communities and hotels, including developing Portland’s first 5-Star hotel – The Ritz Carlton.
